I still maintain that King's 'The Gunslinger' Dark Tower book 1 is one of the slowest and lamest books I've ever read.
Why am I reading it, then?
Because King's had some sort of traumatic brain injury in the last ten years and MUST tie all his books together. I finished The Talisman and Black House and now have to go re-read the Gunslinger series and Hearts in Atlantis to find out if Sawyer is mentioned anywhere. My brain says he was, but I can't remember where.
This is why I don't get rid of books, even when I don't like them. If I didn't have these lame-ass bits of shitty writing bound in print, I'd be forced to hit the half price store and buy them.
I still can't believe the mind that created 'It' wrote this.. drek. 'It' was probably the best novel of childhood terrors come to life that I've ever read. It was brilliantly done. Gunslinger is.. not. Not at all.
