Finished Rome tonight. Still heavily impressed. The last four eps really kind of sucked, due to the amount of time they were jumping and the fact that they gypped me out of another war sequence. I was looking forward to the navy battle. :( Will need to re-watch the entire series again soon.. perhaps the second time I can stop being distracted by the shoes. That art director is a crackhead. "Hmm.. we'll take tons of artistic license with the actual garb but damnit, I draw the line at the shoes! All shoes must be period accurate!" Did they hire Imelda Marcos? .. Perhaps not; not enough rhinestones.

Watched the first ep of the new season of True Blood. My loathing for all things Stackhouse remains unchanged. I'm intrigued by the New Bad. The rest of the characters could DIAF and .. well, I'd probably enjoy that episode immensely. Except Eric. He can stay, especially if he keeps walking around in muscle shirts and leather pants.

Rome had enough plot to make up for several other series worth of eye candy. Of course, it's now summer break and the eyecandy won't be back for three months. :P

I still haven't seen Rome, even though the rest of the housemates loved it while it was on. Maybe some day.

I still like True Blood. I also hate Jason Stackhouse, but I think that's because he plays the character so well and we're not really supposed to like him. I don't mind Sookie, but I'm really just watching the show to see what they do with Lafayette and Eric this season.

You would want to lick Rome. It's that pretty.

Sookie makes me want to slap her in the head with a mallet. She's.. insipid.

Lafayette is my favourite character. Eric has potential, as does the New Bad.

I tell you what, I watched the first season before I read the first three books, and I enjoyed them for a completely different reason. They are, admittedly, potato chip books, but considering what I have on my pile to read, those are nice, too. I still have two biographies: Sarah Bernhardt and Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough.

Anyhoo, Sookie is not as insipid in the books. Sadly, it lacks Lafayette as any kind of real character. It makes up for the lack of Tara and Lafayette with Terry being in it a little more and Sookie not making you want to slap her. If you have time for fun, useless books, they are a nice read.

And yes, Jason is an ass, Sookie makes me want to punch her and Lafayette is my favorite. I was really bummed out when *SPOILER FROM END OF FIRST SEASON*.
