Voting musings.

spookyevilone10 more months until El Fucko is out of office. I'm desperately hoping Kucinich stays in the race, because I want to vote for him. If he ran with McKinney as his VP, I'd be in heaven.
I've always voted Democrat, because the candidates I've wanted to vote for have happened to be Democrat. When it comes to voting, I wind up not so much voting for someone as I do voting against someone else.
I will not vote for anyone who voted to authorize or reauthorize the Patriot Act(s). Both Clinton and Obama voted for it. Kucinich voted against it. His comment makes me smile - "Why did I vote against it [the Patriot Act]? Because I read it."
I will not vote for anyone who takes the 'civil union not marriage' track. "Separate but equal" is a fucking abomination and I do not want to live in a world where Brown v. Board of Education needs to be repeated for each different race, gender, creed, or sexual orientation. There's a reason it was originally known as a marriage contract - because that's what a marriage is; a contract between two people to combine households. What gender those two people are should not matter. Someday, when I rule the world, the number of people in a contract won't matter either, but for now, it's stuck at two. Unless the 'civil union' idiots are campaigning for all marriages to be redefined as 'civil unions' or 'spousal unions', then it goes right back to 'separate but equal' and earns my enmity. Won't vote for anyone that stupid. Obama continually takes this track, and it makes me throw up in my mouth a little to see a black man doing it. Dear Sir: If my forefathers hadn't thought separate but equal was a load of horseshit, you would not currently be able to vote, much less run for president, so pls to get the fuck out of pre-1954 mentality k thx.
I will not vote for anyone who tries to limit citizenship to this country, for anyone. I'm Native American. I have a very, very strong viewpoint on citizenship here in the United States. Citizenship shouldn't be based on job skills. Anyone who wants to become a citizen of the United States should: a) prove they can speak, read and write English well enough to be understood, b) be given a grace period of 60 days to find a job, c) not be allowed welfare or social services until they've become a tax paying member of this country and maintained that status for x-amount of time.
It leaves me few candidates. When you consider how much I hate the monkey poo-flinging tactics that blossom like corpseflowers from each camp, it leaves me even fewer. Kucinich is the only candidate I like. I disagree with him on a few points, but frankly, I can live without resentment in a country that doesn't have the death penalty.
