Long, long drive and resulting logistics juggling that resulted in us driving back with two of the climbers instead of the one climber we thought we'd be coming back with. Which worked out better, because they wanted to tourist as well, so yay :)

Highlights:
A Terminator walking a T-rex through a field.
Bison sitting behind a cutout of a wagon being chased by injuns.
An ipod charger for $4 at a store in Wall, SD - across the street from the vomitous mass that is Wall Drug. No, I did NOT get a bumper sticker.
A lynx investigating a deer carcass on the side of the road.
Prairie dogs galore!
Space Rock.
That Guy successfully contacting the Mothership with a new climber who's never done the summit before.
Lots and lots of reading on the ipod touch. Damn, that thing is so worth it as an ebook reader. Kindle, eat your motherf'ing heart out. I got a LOT of use out of it.
That Guy climbing in the Needles while I read and napped.
Dead Presidents.
Crazy Horse.
Wind Cave. We wanted to do Jewel Cave, but all tours were sold out.
Four Mile - ghost town.
Badlands.
Long, LONG, boring drive home through shitty weather.

I did most of the driving. I am now sick of the inside of my car.

Of the bad: My electricity is off. Got home to find out Oliver is an UnCat.
Of the good: Bitchy!Paralegal put in her 2 weeks notice.

But that's not what the Prairie Dog Town signs say... ;-)

No, that's what the signs into the Badlands say :) I cracked up, after all the Prairie Dog Town signs promoting them as cute, cuddly little muffins. Bubonic plague! It's fun for the whole family!

E never wants to drive through the Badlands. He's a terrible spoilsport.

Should it bother me that I've got a large number of the signs along I-90 between I-35 to Rapid City memorized?

I never want to drive through them again. All those fossils and all those signs saying "YOU CAN NOT HAS!" Also, it looked like a post-apocolyptic, blasted land. Creepy. And not in a good way.

It should bother you, yes :) I had them memorized and kept quoting them all weekend, but thankfully they're starting to fade.
