My neighbors called me yesterday, because I am the designated crazy animal person in my neighborhood. They're looking for a dog. For once, I actually don't have anyone trying to convince me that really, my house is NOT too small for a big dog. (It is.)

If you live in MN and you're looking for a home for a laid back, older dog - or if you know of someone who is - or if you know of a rescue that isn't charging sickeningly huge "adoption" fees.. ($385 for a dog? Seriously?! For a 501c(3), either they're lying about nonprofit or they're not doing their best to find low-cost vet services because I didn't pay that much for /any/ of my dogs to get them up to date and altered - ever - and I had a mastiff) please let me know.

Neighbors are older and one is retired, she's home alone all day and very lonely. She walked every dog in our neighborhood for years, and now we have no dogs within walking distance. They're good people, they keep a nice house, and the dog would be spoiled rotten.

Pandora's Box Vet Clinic (which should just be opening this evening) often has large dogs with extremely resonable adoption fees. That's how Sam and Garry got Maxie
