Die-with-a-T
Sep. 11th, 2010 12:33 amI'm a carbovore. Technically, I'm a vegetarian, since I can't eat meat, but I mostly eat carbs. Sometimes with vegetables or fruit on them. It's been suggested numerous times that I try to add more protein to my diet.
Vulgar comments aside, it's not all that easy to do when I can't, y'know, eat meat.. and I kind of hate eggs unless they're an ingredient in bread or cakes.. and I don't drink milk.. and I'm trying to cut down on tofu/soy because the phytoestroegens make me /fucking insane/.
I discovered something at the grocery store last night. Ice cream with ingredients reading "milk, cream, sugar (and/or cocoa/fruit/etc)" has less sugar per serving than store-bought bread. Even supposedly healthy bread. Even healthy bread with no HFCS in it. Also has three times the amount of protein per serving.
Ice cream instead of bread. Sounds yummy and easy, right? Yet here I sit, willing to shiv someone for a croissant. I'm not hungry. I'm actually quite full right now, but it's like an addiction. I don't need a croissant, but I want one very badly. The desire is not appeased by a protein substitute.
Not cutting carbs out completely - just cutting down and trying to up the protein. We'll see how long this shit lasts. If you see news reports of some insane redheaded chick who mugged someone for a pizza.. that'd be me.
