They accepted!
Oct. 13th, 2009 05:32 pmThe second bid on my house, which I lowballed the shit out of, was accepted. I suspect it was the only bid it got. If all goes well, by Christmas I will be living in a house that I paid less than half the market value for.
The class action that has eaten my life for the last year and a half wrapped yesterday with an award of no damages, which is AWESOME! I think the rest of the verdict is crap, but when you've got two women who look like everyone's favourite grandmother on the stand and the judge lets the prosecution tell the jury about their church service and how they feed the homeless, it's about as good as we could ever have gotten. Regardless that nobody was damaged by a badly written product brochure, and one of those nice little grannies is married to a tax accountant. Whatev'. No. Freaking. Damages! In the world of litigation, that's an angelic choir singing heavenly hosannas - it's the holy grail of class action lit. It's a beautiful thing.
That's all the news for now.
