The one I keep seeing today is: "Copy this sentence into your LiveJournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow."

I'm not married. I refuse to get married until the division of church and state is defined and federal and state rights are no longer conveyed by clergy to anyone, ever. Which is a rather ranty way of saying "You can still have your church wedding - AFTER you have a civil union."

That would satisfy both the church's backwards, fucked up, homophobic agenda desire not to condone homosexuality and provide the vehicle for homosexuals to get married in a way that conveys all the exact same rights currently available to heterosexual. It will also take the 'separate but equal' connotation off the term "civil union".

So..

Copy and paste this into your journal if you believe federal and state rights should be conveyed by civil unions for all, homosexual and heterosexual alike.

Which church are you speaking of? I know several that are quite accepting.
