I want to live in Silent Hill.

spookyeviloneAnother new Silent Hill game comes out this year. This is frustrating, because it means I will need to get a PS3. My issue with the PS3 is that I want one that can play all the old Silent Hill games, so it has to be backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2. Guess what feature they removed from the PS3 in the new generation. So, unless I'm lucky and find one of the first generation 60gb PS3s, I'm not going to be able to play all my games on one system. If Evil!Houseguest hadn't stolen my PS2, this wouldn't be such an issue.
That Guy is making me find something I want for my birthday. I thought, "I want a bubblehead nurse or pyramid head doll!" A rabid internet search - even into the depths of hell that are Etsy and DeviantArt - turned up no such items. Disgruntled, I started trolling Ball Jointed Doll (and I always want to type Bone Jointed..) sites and sighed wistfully because, damn, those things are spendy. Then I found Parabox.. and ..uh.. spent way too much money on 21 cm bodies and heads to make my own nurse and pyramid head dolls.
Granted, I paid about 1/6th the price of a 1/3 scale BJD for three bodies and four heads with eyes and a wig for one of the heads, so.. really in the BJD world, not that expensive. Only after I'd paid did I see their articulated dog forms. Damn them and their enabling!! Now I have to go back and get the dog forms to make skinned dog monsters from Silent Hill! I will have enough parts to make 1 nurse, 1 pyramid head with an extra head because I wasn't sure if I wanted the flesh toned head or a clear one to dip in latex to go under the pyramid. Then I splurged and got another 21cm body with their Muffin head sculpt, eyes, and a wig, to make a cute little doll for me.
There's NOTHING WRONG with making dolls! I have two X chromosomes! I am allowed - nay, encouraged! - to play with dolls! These are the first dolls I've bought in a long time that weren't prefaced by the word 'voodoo'.
None of this is helping me think of something I want for my birthday. Being a grownup sucks sometimes.
