Of diverter valves and ugly children
Mar. 8th, 2010 05:22 pmMy breaking point is cold showers. I loathe them. Especially when they are completely unexpected, since the water in the bathroom sink is skin-blistering hot. My apartment manager had a professional come look at the why and wheretofor of my shower not working, and it's a bad diverter valve, which they will be replacing tomorrow morning. I warned them that I cannot be held legally, fiscally, or morally responsible for my actions without a hot shower in the morning. They seemed to take that seriously. Quite possibly because I wasn't joking in the slightest.
I've been going through Facebook and have decided that too many people post pictures of their ugly children. On the plus side, it's birth control almost on par with other people's obnoxious children. On the down side.. it makes me think better of eugenics, which is never a good thing. At some point in the future, I am probably going to be some sort of dictator, and a dictator who thinks eugenics may actually serve a purpose is generally a bad thing.
There was a car accident today. I was bringing the rental back and some dumbass who could not read or .. y'know.. see the dozen of rental car employees desperately trying to flag him down (No, not hyperbole - there were at least 12 in the lot at the time).. went out the Entrance Only area of the lot.. right into the front of the vehicle I was driving. I saw him coming but there was nowhere for me to go. Crunch went the car. My first thought, after 'ow!' was a giggling, hysterical, 'Good thing I didn't get the damage insurance rider taken off the rental agreement'. The giggling is probably what made the rental employees suggest I go get an xray to make sure I didn't have a concussion. I declined. I have a headache and what feels like minor whiplash in my neck/back. The rental people comp'd me some cash toward my rental, which was nice. Tomorrow there's a massage therapist at the fitness center at work and I will very much be taking advantage of that.
The bedroom floor in Chez Stamp is lovely. Well, as lovely as a poor, abused wood floor that's had some work done to it and a nice shiny coat of polyurethane added can be. It's more lovely than some people's children, anyway.
